Clamp down on IPOB members by security operatives spreads to South South zone

The clamp down on the separatist group in South Eastern part of the country has spread to the South South geo-political zone as security operatives  take over some parts of Oyigbo Local Government Area, especially around Timber Junction in River state.

There was a clash between soldiers and some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra on Tuesday.

The security operatives, who were mainly policemen, also embarked on stop-and-search in order to forestall a repeat of the crisis.

Calm has, however, returned to the area after the clash that lasted for about an hour on Tuesday.
