Gov. Ugwuanyi at a meeting with Board, Management, Staff and Players of Enugu Rangers International Football Club, Tuesday evening took decisive decisions aimed at revitalizing and repositioning the Club
Among the actions taken by the Governor was the immediate dissolution of the Board and Management of Enugu Rangers Management Corporation, termination of the appointments of all contract staff of the Corporation,return of all staff earlier seconded to Rangers Management Corporation to their parent establishments and the termination of the appointment of the Club Physician with immediate effect.
The Governor also stated that a panel of inquiry charged with ensuring a diagnostic investigation of the problems of Rangers FC will be set up shortly, to articulate a Road Map for Rangers FC.
He further disclosed that the Rangers Management Corporation Law will be amended to align it with the said Road Map and must specifically enthrone a robust Governance structure with clear reporting lines in keeping with international best practices and transparent accountability framework.
The governor added that a new Board and Management of Rangers Management Corporation will be constituted with clear and complementary roles for delivery of the strategic goals of the Football Club as would be enshrined in the proposed amendment in Rangers Management Corporation Law.
He stressed that the new Rangers Board and Management must hunt and recruit good players directly without any intervening football club. Rangers players must henceforth, be wholly owned by Rangers FC, as well as identify and engage a competent technical crew.
